Dogland is a new film by the first time feature director Paul Murphy. The film takes an intensive look at the problem of stray and abandoned dogs in Spain. It follows a group of volunteers who have taken over a dog pound near to the town of Los Barrios in Andalusia. This pound was once a notorious Killing Station where stray dogs were killed after ten days if they had not been claimed. The team of volunteers have stopped the killing but face an upward struggle each day as the numbers of stray and abused dogs gets greater and greater. They are slowly running out of space. Helped by a charity in the UK called Spanish Stray Dogs they try their best to have the dogs adopted with many of them going to the UK and Germany. Dogland is a story of love, determination and endurance when face with an overwhelming and unsolvable problem.
